What This Hat Size Chart Includes
Our hat sizing chart helps you convert your measurement across formats, including:
- Inches
- Centimeters (cm)
- Fitted hat sizes
- Size ranges for easy fit, stretch fit, and one size fits most (OSFM) hats
Between Sizes? Choose the Larger Size
If your measurement falls between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size. You can fine-tune the fit easily with a size-reducing tape or choose an adjustable-size hat.
One Size Fits Most: What It Typically Means
- Most women’s OSFM hats are approximately 57 cm (Medium)
- Most men’s OSFM hats are approximately 59 cm (Large)
We often note when a style runs larger and specify the maximum size it will fit.
Why Fit Can Vary by Brand and Style
Hat fit isn’t only about circumference. Sizing can vary slightly by brand, and the “feel” can change depending on:
- Material: soft vs. structured/stiff crowns
- Inner band type: elasticized, cotton, leather, etc.
- Hat style: caps, fedoras, wide brims, bucket hats, etc.
- How you wear it: if you like a hat tilted back, measure along that exact path
The best approach is simple: measure where you wear, choose the larger size if you’re between sizes, and adjust down if needed.
