At Setar Trading Hats, we offer a large selection of small size hats for men and women. We offer XXS, XS and Small size hats to fit 20-22" head sizes. Measure your head to find which small heads size fits you best.
MY HEAD IS 20 INCHES, WHAT SIZE DO I NEED?
You will need an XXS size hat. Look for hats that are 51 cm, or a 52 cm hat with an adjustable drawstring. A size reducing tape will work if the hat is not adjustable.
WHAT HAT SIZE IS CONSIDERED A SMALL?
55 - 56 cm, 21.65 - 22 inches hat size is considered a small size.
HOW CAN I MAKE MY HAT EVEN SMALLER?
Most of our petite size hats have a drawstring in the inner band to tighten the fit. Some hats have a toggle adjuster. A size reducing tape can be applied under the inner band in hats without an adjusting feature.
WHY DO HATS ALWAYS LOOK SO BIG ON ME?
The circumference of a one size women's hat is 57 cm, and the depth of the crown is 4-5" inch. Even when you can make the fit tighter, the crown will look too big as it extends out from your face, like a mushroom. Petite size hats have smaller circumference and shallower crowns and proportionally smaller brims as well.
DO YOU HAVE SUN VISORS IN PETITE SIZES?
Yes, we have a variety of small size sun visors.
DO YOU HAVE BASEBALL HATS FOR SMALL HEADS?
Yes. Small size baseball caps fit from 52-56 cm head sizes.
DO PETITE HATS PROVIDE SUN PROTECTION?
Yes, most of our sun hats are rated for UV blocking and provide excellent UPF 50+ sun protection. This is referenced in our product description. Wider brims provide more sun protection as they shade you better.
WHICH HATS LOOK GOOD ON SMALL HEADS?
Same as with any hat, hats proportionate to your frame look best. If you are petite, pinched crown hats, like a fedora or safari hat, tend to look good. Tall women with small head size look great in a wider brim, round crown hat, such as big brim hats and floppy hats. Ladies with oval shape face tend to look good in every hat style. Often the color of the hat matters more than the style. A hat should match your complexion and brighten your face.

WHAT IS A MEN'S SMALL HAT SIZE?
Average size men's hats are 59 cm, large size. There are three smaller hat sizes. Small size is 55 cm, S/M size is 56 cm, medium size is 57 cm, generally. Check our description for the exact size of the hat.
ARE MEN'S HATS ADJUSTABLE SIZE?
Ball caps and hiking hats are adjustable, but other styles that are available in a range of sizes are not. The adjustable feature if available is noted in our product description.
HOW IS THE HAT SIZE DETERMINED?
Measure your head where you'd like the hat to sit, then use a hat size chart to find the fitted or relaxed fit hat size.
